There have been several updates to construction over the last few days, some expected, some not.
Below is this week's Main Street work schedule. In addition, you will find lane closures for Charlton Avenue West and Dundurn Street South, in part, and on different weeks.
The York Boulevard stairs will be closed
Charlton Avenue West (Kent Street to Reginald Street)
- Type: Road closure
- When: Starting Monday, June 15th, 2026, until Friday, June 19th, 2026
- Letter to residents
- Purpose: Installation of watermains and storm sewers (map)
Notes: Notice received today, a request was immediately sent to staff to consider extending the road-closed notification further east, so that non-resident drivers expecting to use Charlton Ave W as a flow-through have enough time to consider alternate routes. As of the mailing, the request is pending with City departments.

York Boulevard Stairs Closure - Connection to Harbourfront Trail
The City will temporarily close the stairs from York Blvd High Level Bridge to the floating bridge on June 16 (weather permitting).
The closure is needed for vegetation removal around the stairs and adjacent stone retaining wall. The retaining wall undergoes monthly safety inspections, and clearing vegetation ensures those inspections can continue properly.
Stairs will reopen once the work is complete.
