York Blvd 2023 Construction Reboot Public Meeting Video

On November 2, City staff led an online meeting to consult on the 2023 York Blvd Construction design. There are several treatments to be applied as part of the forthcoming changes to York. Hear directly from staff what changes are proposed.

2023 Budget Public Delegations

The first public 2023 budget delegation takes place Monday, November 21, 2022, beginning at 3:00 PM.

All committee meetings are live-streamed via the City agenda website or through the City's YouTube channel.

Community Pantries/Fridges

Ward 1 houses three community food pantries/fridges, all are run by local volunteers. And all welcome donations.

Community fridges are a volunteer-run, publicly accessible, low-barrier resource, from which community members can get free food. Community fridges are a method to reduce food waste, and by donating, volunteering, and spreading the word, are a method to provide care for one's own community. Community fridges and pantries have gained a lot of prevalence recently, as the pandemic has highlighted the need for mutual aid.

The City of Hamilton is situated upon the traditional territories of the Erie, Neutral, Huron-Wendat, Haudenosaunee and Mississaugas. This land is covered by the Dish With One Spoon Wampum Belt Covenant, which was an agreement between the Haudenosaunee and Anishinaabek to share and care for the resources around the Great Lakes. We further acknowledge that this land is covered by the Between the Lakes Purchase, 1792, between the Crown and the Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation.

Today, the City of Hamilton is home to many Indigenous people from across Turtle Island (North America), and we recognize that we must do more to learn about the rich history of this land so that we can better understand our roles as residents, neighbours, partners and caretakers.
